Our Experience
Since 2015, Matthew Sharp and a team of associates has provided consulting services to small business, local government and nonprofit clients.
Matthew's two decades of experience is multi-faceted. He has served as Senior Policy Director of LA2050 at the Goldhirsh Foundation, where he led the LA2050 initiative’s planning efforts and implementation of strategies to accelerate progress.
Prior to LA2050, he served as Senior Advocate managing five staff in California Food Policy Advocates’ Los Angeles Office.
Matthew has significant experience in government relations. He provided testimony to two U.S. congressional committee hearings, numerous state legislative committee hearings, as well as city council, school board and county board hearings. He provided regular commentary in the Los Angeles Times and has provided analysis on ABC News, CNN and the Fox News Channel. He began his career at Marion-Polk Food Share, a food bank in rural Oregon.
Our Relationships
In order to best serve clients, Matthew and associates maintain a wide network of relationships.
In addition to consulting work, Matthew is an LA City Council appointee to
the Los Angeles City Health Commission, where he serves
as Vice President, and a Mayoral appointee to Los Angeles
Community Action Board, providing oversight of the city’s
state, federal and local anti-poverty funding. He is also serves on the boards of directors of LA Food Policy Council, The Tuition Magician and Hunger Action LA and teaches strategic planning at UCLA Extension. He has previously served on several other boards and was elected to Neighborhood Council.
